Applications Open for Rebuilding Together Home Repair Program in St. Joseph County

SOUTH BEND, IN – Local nonprofit Rebuilding Together in St. Joseph County has announced that applications are open to homeowners interested in free home repairs or rehabilitation.

Officials say the 2025 program will focus on the Keller Park and Marquette Park neighborhoods, with priority given to seniors over 60, the disabled and veteran homeowners.

Officials say repairs can be as minor as minor carpentry work and painting walls, to major skilled work such as roofing and updating electrical and plumbing systems.

For your home to qualify for Rebuilding Together repair assistance, it must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• The house must be within the project’s target area for the year.
• The home must be single-family, owner-occupied (rental homes are not eligible) and be the applicant’s primary residence.
• The total income of all family members must be within federal limits.
• The home must be insured under a homeowner’s policy.
• The home must have current property taxes.

Applications are accepted until November 15.
