Biltmore Mayfair review: a quintessential slice of luxury London

Staying at The Biltmore, a luxury hotel in the heart of Mayfair, central London, really does make you feel terribly upscale. Driving through the stunning gardens of Grosvenor Square, my partner and I oohed and ahhed at the impressive marble, opulent chandeliers and old world glamor of the hotel lobby.

Compared to our surroundings, we were woefully underdressed. This fact became even more apparent as we passed an incredibly attractive group. They were dressed for a wedding, which we realized when we accidentally took a photo of the bride and groom as they approached the reception desk. Check-in concluded with a chorus of mazel tov in the background while the happy couple entertained their guests, which seemed like a pretty auspicious start to our stay.

Numbers

The hotel takes up almost the entire side of Grosvenor Square, which means two things. First, you might be lucky, like us, to have a magnificent view of the historic central gardens, built in the 1720s. And two, the hotel is very large – 307 rooms in total, including 250 guest rooms, 49 carefully selected suites and eight signature suites.
