TikTok ‘suspicious challenge’ running trend explained

A new TikTok trend is simultaneously exposing people and bringing them together in fits of laughter.

In the now-viral “Call the Suspects” videos, one person jogs while the person filming the video roasts him in the form of a police broadcast, describing the fleeing man as a “suspect.”

Couples, siblings and friends have jumped on the bandwagon, turning off those who are the running “suspects” and those who play the authority figure mocking the runner.

IN one popular versionwhich has racked up over 18 million views, the pair can’t stop laughing as they take turns stabbing each other.

Describing her partner, the woman says: “The suspect has hair like a 14-year-old boy.” They then switch roles and the man quips, “The suspect looks like she’s running for the first time in her entire life.”

TikToker Abby Herbert also took over trend with her husband Josh Herbert, and their video has received over five million views.

“The suspect has been trying to grow a beard for the last eight years, but he still only has two hairs,” Abby Herbert tells her husband, who then stops to rub his chin.

“You know, this is a sensitive topic,” he jokes.

Josh Herbert then came back with an even deeper dig and told his wife, “The suspect has a mustache, dry hair and poor fashion sense.”

Famous social media influencers like Brooklyn McKnight, Emily Kaiser And Claudia Walshamong others, kicked off this trend and put their relationship to a comical test.

While it’s unclear who came up with the trend, the “Suspect Challenge” took TikTok by storm last month.
