The Apple MacBook Air M2 is an outstanding laptop, and we still think the M2 chip is Apple’s best option, at least for most people. The M2 processor offers an excellent balance between performance and price. The M1 isn’t as powerful, and the M3 models cost more without requiring too much of an upgrade. I’ve personally used the M2 to edit RAW photos without issue, and some of our colleagues still use it to edit 4K video. It can do both without issue, so the laptop will definitely be able to handle any other, more mundane tasks without breaking a sweat. Upgrading to 16GB of RAM will also improve multitasking performance. Honestly, we don’t think most of them will be able to truly push it to the limit.

Performance aside, we have to keep in mind that this is technically still a higher-end laptop, even if current prices might not suggest that. The Apple MacBook Air M2 is superior to all others. The display is great. It’s smaller at 13.6 inches, but it has a very sharp IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1664 and can play Color gamut DCI-P3making it very color accurate.

Of course, a smaller screen size also helps the laptop remain more portable, and that’s what the MacBook Air line is all about. Not to mention, the design is gorgeous and features an aluminum body that is now iconic in the industry. And if you care about battery life, the Apple MacBook Air M2 can last up to 18 hours on a full charge.

Why did I upgrade to the 16GB RAM version? Should you stick with the 8GB model and save nearly $100? To be honest, in the few days I’ve had it, I haven’t encountered any issues or slowdowns with the 8GB Apple MacBook Air M2. The only reason I upgraded is because it’s my work machine. I thought it would be worth paying a little more for double the RAM in the long run, given the new discount on the 16GB model.

However, the Apple MacBook Air M2 with 8GB of RAM is still an amazing laptop. Save $99.01, it might be worth it if your needs are a little less demanding. Regular users who will work on documents, surf the web, watch movies, and even edit photos/videos will still have a great time with it. You may occasionally experience some slowdowns when working with multiple applications or browser tabs at the same time. Again, this is something that most people don’t do most of the time.

Apart from the RAM, both laptops are identical. You get the same high-quality experience, slim design, great build, stunning screen, long battery life, etc.
