Apex Legends has finally brought back hitscan weapons in Season 23

Season 23 of Apex Legends brought back hit scanning weapons. There have been many OP guns in the history of this game, but this is an unexpected callback that will be even better in modern Apex than it was originally.

No, Season 23 brings back to the main Battle Royale game mode a long-lost weapon that endured a brief but memorable reign of terror when it came to the early days of Apex: the Chosen Fire Havoc.

Of course, this weapon is only available in the care package and takes Havoc out of the ground loot pool, so you won’t be encountering it too often. However, this brings the long-heralded energy rifle back to its former glory.

Originally this weapon wasn’t that good until it got a few buffs. But by the time Apex reached Season 5/6, the fire-chosen Havoc had become a demon for one main reason: it may not have the highest damage per shot or high fire rate, but it is essentially a hit-scan weapon. In a game like Apex Legends, this is invaluable.

It was always somewhat of a niche weapon given the charging time, but those who mastered that lag could easily get kills all over the map.

Its damage has been slightly reduced compared to its base form: it now deals 53 damage to the body, and headshot damage is much less than before. However, Apex in its modern form simply does not have such hitscan weapons. The loaded rifle is justifiably pressed to the ground..
