Caoimhin Kelleher – 7/10

There wasn’t much to do as he made one very simple save in the first half and a good double save to keep the Reds clean in the 85th minute. His distribution throughout the match was a bit disappointing.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6.5/10

Defended well and created several chances to push Liverpool forward. Trent combined well with Ryan Gravenberch at times to keep Bayer Leverkusen at bay. In the 36th minute, he took a free kick from a dangerous position, but the ball deflected off the wall for a corner. He barely fired over the crossbar in the 71st minute, but had he scored it would still have been ruled out for offside in the game.

Ibrahima Konate – 7/10

Konate appears to have recovered well from the injury he suffered against Brighton. He defended reliably, often covering Trent on the right flank.

Virgil van Dijk – 7/10

Classic Van Dijk play, with excellent defending and a long overhead pass to Mo Salah as highlights.

Kostas Tsimikas – 6.5/10

Tsimikas looked decent again today, he didn’t have much of a defensive challenge but kept Frimpong quiet throughout except for a close call when Frimpong’s goal was ruled out due to a clear handball in the first half.

Ryan Gravenberch – 8/10

Gravenberch again did what he has done for the Reds all season, winning the ball on several occasions and helping Liverpool move up the pitch while providing support to his backline.

Alex Mac Allister – 5/10

While struggling to make a meaningful impact on the game, he looked exhausted and out of sorts at times during the match. A very disappointing performance from the World Cup winner.

Curtis Jones – 9/10

Full of energy and always ready to press, Jones had a great game, often looking like the Reds’ most dangerous player and assisting Diaz’s goal. Jones bought fireworks at Anfield on Bonfire Night.

Mohamed Salah – 7/10

Looked the sharpest of the attacking three, despite being the only one who didn’t score. Liverpool struggled to create many meaningful chances in the first half, but it was Salah’s cross that made the difference. Cody Gakpo doubled the Reds’ lead just minutes after they scored their first goal. The Egyptian king also assisted Diaz’s second with another fantastic cross.

Cody Gakpo – 7/10

Gakpo played a quiet match until he doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 63rd minute. A close-range header saved the game for the Dutchman as he was otherwise a bit of a disappointment.

Luis Diaz – 9/10

After a quiet first half, Diaz broke the deadlock with an audacious strike in the 61st minute, keeping his cool under pressure and timing his run perfectly for Jones’ pass. Dias also scored the third goal against Liverpool in the 83rd minute after another cross from Mo Salah. Diaz capped off his night with a hattrick in the 92nd minute – a fantastic night for the Colombian.
