Several local counties received alleged bomb threats, vote count postponed

Officials in many local counties are reportedly investigating alleged bomb threats at courthouses that are affecting the vote-counting process.

Authorities in Center and Clearfield counties confirmed evacuations and brief disruptions to the ballot counting process.

Center County officials say the Willowbank building was temporarily evacuated and employees have since returned to the courthouse.

In Clearfield County, commissioners say the courthouse was evacuated and the vote count was moved to the Presbyterian Church.

The judge also issued an emergency order allowing mail-in ballots to be accepted in Clearfield County until 9 p.m.

6 News is also working to confirm reports of other suspected threats in Blair, Elk and Cameron counties.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro also addressed the alleged threats and released the following statement:

We’re also told that multiple bomb threats have been made at polling places and municipal offices across Pennsylvania over the past hour.

My team and I have been in direct communication with Pennsylvania State Police Colonel Christopher Paris, who is coordinating with local and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as PEMA.

State and local law enforcement along with the FBI are investigating these threats and there is no credible threat to the public at this time.
