Dana Perino criticized Harris for not immediately skipping the race

Fox News host Dana Perino criticized the vice president Kamala Harris for not immediately conceding the 2024 elections to the former president Donald Trump her network projected her to lose the race.

Trump was announced winner in Pennsylvania and projected to become the nation’s 47th president shortly before 1:30 a.m. ET.

While Fox News waited for Trump to deliver the widely expected victory speech from Florida, Perino argued that Harris should have spoken from Howard University to concede victory in the race. She left the event before the race was called.

Network anchor Bret Baier noted: “Vice President Harris will speak tomorrow and this will be her response to the election results. That’s all we have from Harris’ team, which is really strange. I mean, Dana, from a PR standpoint.”

Perino replied:

Well, I also think it’s a shame because I remember John Kerry doing this to George W. Bush in 2004. And you worked so hard. And I know they’re disappointed, but you have to give in and let your opponent have election night and let them – whoever’s Trump there – go to Mar-a-Lago, where are they? They’re in Palm Beach. Let them spend their moment with no one. As I remember, Andy Card had to come and say: well, yes, we know we won, but we will have to wait until John Kerry concedes. And the next morning we all had to go back and wait. And you don’t understand this moment. I don’t think this is right.

Bayer replied: “That doesn’t mean there won’t be a phone call. There may be a phone call tonight, but she’s not going to talk publicly.”

Perino concluded, “If there is a phone call, they should make it public so no one will hear from her. So if I were her, I’d do it tonight.”

Trump shamefully refused to concede victory in the 2020 presidential race, which he lost. Joe BidenThe decision sparked a riot at the US Capitol by his supporters that left six people dead and more than 100 police officers injured.
