Schools are racing against time to pass exams or risk getting zero marks.

Schools are racing against time to pass exams or risk getting zero marks.

More than 200 students from 33 schools participating in the new junior secondary curriculum are at risk of failing their O-level exams due to the missed deadline for continuous assessments, which were due on October 30, 2024.

Under the new curriculum, schools are required to evaluate high school students, with these continuous assessments accounting for 20% of the final grade. The remaining 80% is determined by the UNEB final exams.

UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo stressed the urgency of the situation, calling on the 33 affected schools to submit the required assessments by Friday. Failure to do so will have serious consequences for student performance.
