Chiltern Railways provides update after London Underground strike is called off

Now that planned strike on London Members underground trade unions RMT and ASLEF were suspended Chiltern Railways will resume normal business hours from tomorrow, Thursday, November 7th.

Both unions intended to organize a strike at London Underground on various days from Friday 1st to Saturday 16th November.

However, last Friday, November 1, the RMT union announced that its members’ planned strike would be suspended.

ASLEF The union followed suit yesterday, Tuesday 5 November, announcing that the strike planned by its members would also be suspended.

Due to short notice to cancel the planned strike action, Chiltern services between London Marylebone and Great Missenden will not operate today, Wednesday 6 November, but normal services will resume tomorrow, Thursday 6 November.

Until the end of today Chiltern will operate a limited service between Great Missenden, Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway, the Chiltern Railways replacement bus service will continue to provide services between Great Missenden and Amersham, and London Underground lines will operate to and from from Amersham.

Although the planned strike took place on the London Underground, Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham would have been affected as Chiltern Railways trains run on the Metropolitan Line, meaning they would have been disrupted by union action.
