4 Reasons Donald Trump’s Election Was Historic

Donald Trump election victory was historical in several respects, even though his defeat Vice President Kamala Harris prevented other first steps. She could become the country’s first black, South Asian woman to become president.

He is the oldest of the chosen ones

At 78, Trump is the oldest person. elected to the presidency of the United States. When he is sworn in on January 20, 2025, he will be several months older than Joe Biden was at his 2020 inauguration. Trump’s ally, 40-year-old J.D. Vance, will become the third youngest vice president.

This is the second time someone has won two terms in a row.

Several US presidents have served more than one term, and Trump joins that group. He was the 45th president and will now become the 47th. But only one other president has done it the way Trump did—with a gap between terms. It was Grover Clevelandwho was the 22nd president since the 1884 election and the 24th president since the 1892 campaign.

He was convicted of serious crimes

Trump is close to becoming the first US president since felony conviction. In May, a New York jury found him guilty of all 34 counts in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through payment of money for a secret to a porn actor who said they had sex.

He was prosecuted (twice)

Trump is already the only president in US history to face impeachment proceedings twice during his tenure. In each case, he was acquitted by the Senate on all charges.
