Man airlifted after shooting in southwest Miami-Dade; searching by topic – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FL. (WSVN) – Emergency crews airlifted a man to the hospital after he was shot in southwest Miami-Dade, police said, leading to a search for the gunman responsible.

Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of a shooting in the area of Crome Avenue and Southwest 192nd Street Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the man was shot at or near the gas station.

When police arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics airlifted the patient to Jackson South Medical Center.

Witnesses said the shooter ran down Krome Avenue to a nearby day care center.

Aerial footage showed officers at the day care center as they began searching for the property.

Traffic along Kromsky Avenue remains open in both directions.
