LAFAYETTE PARISH — An overturned 18-wheeler caused a road closure on Elmira Drive near Reno Drive in Scott, according to the Scott Fire Department.

The accident happened around 3:30 pm on Wednesday, prompting officials to install detours to divert traffic. There were no reports of public hazard, but the roadway is expected to be closed for several hours as crews work to clear the scene.
