The Smart City Sensing and Operations Laboratory, which aims to enhance the capabilities of new quality laboratories and develop smart cities in China, was unveiled on Wednesday during the ongoing 7th China International Import Expo.

The laboratory is jointly developed and operated by SGS Group, a Swiss multinational company providing inspection, verification, testing and certification services, and Shenzhen University of Technology under a cooperation agreement reached during the CIIE.

Future-oriented and data-driven, digitally enabled laboratory focuses on the development of smart cities and offers a range of services including online project management, test automation, remote monitoring, equipment scheduling management, data flow and automated reporting to improve testing efficiency and quality of service.

Local tea drink chain operator Heytea on Wednesday signed an agreement with SGS to collaborate on food labeling as the company seeks to establish quality control measures to lay a strong foundation for its overseas expansion.

The SGS Group will offer market access, food safety standards and relevant regulatory approvals in overseas markets.

During the Shanghai City Investment Promotion Conference “Invest in China 2024” on Wednesday, Yangpu District and Shanghai-based XTransfer, which offers cross-border financial and payment services to small and medium-sized enterprises, signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

Under the agreement, XTransfer will leverage the county’s regional and resource advantages, and use digital cross-border financial services and intelligent risk control technologies to provide comprehensive financial support to domestic and foreign medium, small and micro foreign trade firms, helping them expand their business and trade. all over the world.

Yangpu District has been designated by the State Council as a demonstration base for mass entrepreneurship and innovation. XTransfer, founded in 2017, is China’s first financial platform for foreign trade between enterprises, headquartered in Yangpu.

From 2021, XTransfer aims to promote Yangpu’s “new online economy” development strategy. It serves more than 550,000 small and micro foreign trade enterprises.

At the conference, Qingpu District signed two foreign-funded projects with Deltahealth Shanghai Hospital and curtain wall manufacturing company Meite.

Under the plan, Singapore-based Meite International Pte Ltd will invest and set up a new curtain wall manufacturing company in the Qingpu Industrial Zone in Shanghai.

With an investment of US$20 million, it will mainly focus on the research, development and production of a new generation of green and smart curtain wall products and will serve as the Singapore company’s headquarters in China.

According to the county government, it will also serve as an operating platform integrating an international technology exchange center, a smart manufacturing center and the China-Singapore Green Building Alliance Service Center.
