Prince William concluded the fourth Earthshot Prize ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa, on Wednesday, marking the end of his four-day visit.

The Prince of Wales, who is expected to travel to the UK from the South African capital on Thursday, November 7, held some 11 events during his visits as part of Earthshot Week.

As the future king prepares to return home to wife Kate Middleton and his three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince George, 6, Kensington Palace shared highlights from the star-studded evening.

“It’s so wonderful to see so many distinguished people from across the African continent and around the world coming together tonight to celebrate with us here in Cape Town,” the post reads, along with a carousel of photos from the ceremony.

The palace also shared a video showing participants and guests making their way onto the green carpet.

The video also included emotional moments from the winners announcement ceremony. It also brought attention to the colorful African culture.

“What a night! Thank you to everyone who made @earthshotprize 2024 so special,” reads the message next to the video.

“I can’t believe we’re here, but I’m really excited because I’ve been looking forward to African Earthshot for a long time,” William said on the green carpet. “I love this continent and I’m so glad we were able to place it here in South Africa.”
