CSTO Secretary General warns about the risks of political destabilization via the Internet

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) points out the risk of using the Internet to destabilize the situation in various countries, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said during a meeting of Security Council secretaries in Moscow.

“Mass production and lack of clear regulations for the use of lethal autonomous weapons systems capable of hitting targets on the ground, in the air and on water without human intervention,” he listed. “Active use of the Internet to disrupt internal political stability, damage the economic, military and other interests of other countries, and intensify space military activities.”

The Secretary General also noted that challenges to international stability, such as the rapidly growing use of AI for military purposes, continue to intensify.

According to the official, the CSTO is taking measures to maintain stability in Eurasia and ensure the security of the CSTO member states.
