Spread and over/under predictions for WVU vs. Cincinnati

Spread and over/under predictions for WVU vs. Cincinnati

West Virginia hits the road this weekend to face old Big East foe Cincinnati. The Bearcats are currently 4.5-point favorites as both teams return to action after a much-needed bye week.

Here are my picks for this week’s WVU game. Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

1 star – not very sure
2 stars – a little confident
3 stars – Fairly confident
4 stars – very confident
5 stars – blocking must occur

2-star West Virginia (+4.5): While Nicco Marchiol will likely start, I’m still leaning toward scoring points against West Virginia in the event of a possible upset. The running game should be at full strength with C.J. Donaldson left the game earlier in the week and left the field. WVU is still a little short on defense, but a change in leadership during the bye week could yield positive results. If things get stalemate, the Mountaineers will be in trouble.

4-star over play: Cincinnati has one of the best passing attacks in the league, averaging 282.4 yards per game, which obviously isn’t good news for the Mountaineers’ secondary. On paper, Cincinnati’s defense hasn’t played terrible, but they’ve also seen some pretty weak to average offenses this season. This matchup could be similar to Cincinnati’s 44-41 win over Texas Tech. I don’t think it will be as productive, but neither team will have any problems getting the ball into the end zone.

ATS: 5-3 (62.5%)
O/U: 4-4 (50%)
Total: 9-7 (56.2%)
