A madrasa student drowned near the beach in Cox’s Bazar today (October 26) around 12:30 pm.

The incident took place at Sugandha Point, Cox’s Bazar district administration’s tourism department executive magistrate Tanveer Hossain confirmed.

The deceased was identified as Mahmudur Rahman, son of Didarul Alam from Banglabazar area of ​​Jhilonjha Union in Cox’s Bazar Sadar.

According to Tanvir, Mahmudur studied in the ninth grade of the local Jumchari Dakhil madrasah.

Quoting locals, Tanveer said, “Mahmudur came to the beaches of Cox’s Bazar with six friends. After playing football for a while, they went swimming in the sea. At some point, Mahmudur drowned. Rescuers rescued him in critical condition. hearing the screams of his friends.

“He was later rushed to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where doctors on duty declared him dead,” Tanveer added.

Tanveer said the body is being kept at the mortuary for post-mortem and will be handed over to his family after due process.
