1 dead, 1 critical after Lake View shooting

One man is dead and another is in critical condition after they were shot in Lake View early Saturday morning, police said.

According to Chicago police, the men, both 22, were in a Belmont Harbor parking lot in the 3500 block of North Belmont Harbor Drive around 12:40 p.m. when someone in a dark SUV fired shots.

One of the men, identified as Ader Luna, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The other was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his left arm and chest.

No one is in custody and Third Precinct detectives are leading the investigation.
