Tampa dessert shop offering free treats to first responders

Local business gives back to community after Hurricane Milton.

Located in the North Tampa, Hello Sweetness is giving first responders a free treat.

Owner Nasser Ali said he wanted to give back to first responders because they helped a lot after Hurricanes Helen and Milton.

“For us to be able to give back to the people who have contributed to our business and made us what we are today, why not,” Ali shared.

Hello Sweetness offers a variety of desserts such as waffles, bubble waffles, pancakes and ice cream. You can even create your own dessert with options like peanut butter crunch, strawberries and cream, and brownie heaven.

Ali said whether it’s a TECO line worker, fire department, local police or someone helping with hurricane recovery, you can come and get a free sweet treat.

He also encourages everyone in the community to come in if they need ice, electricity or Wi-Fi. He just wants to help hurricane victims get back to what they call normal.

Ali said without the community his business would not exist.

“We are a small business, we depend on them every single day, and for that reason we want to give back to them as much as possible,” he explained.
