Grass fire on Vespra Street under investigation

Emergency crews were called to respond to a fire in a grassy area in Barrie Thursday morning.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, which spread to a diameter of approximately 15 meters at Vespra and Victoria Streets near Innisfil Avenue.

The fire chief stated that it was unclear whether this was a campsite and that no one was in the area at the time.

He said the fire was mostly caused by wooden sleds.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
