Kamala Harris is the first presidential candidate from California since Ronald Reagan, but she failed to gain the support of her state’s largest newspaper.

Mariel Garza, the editorial editor of the Los Angeles Times, has resigned over the paper’s decision not to endorse a presidential endorsement this year.

To talk Columbia Journalism Review, externalGarza said the board intended to support Harris, but they were told the newspaper would not take that stance.

In response, the newspaper’s billionaire owner, Patrick Soon-Shiong, posted on “So I accepted their decision.”

Trump’s campaign reacted to the news this way: “Even his fellow Californians know he’s not cut out for the job.”

Harris still has the support of big names like the New York Times and the Boston Globe. Trump is supported by The New York Post as well as smaller conservative outlets such as the Washington Times and Las Vegas Review-Journal.
