‘Kindness Project’ yard signs designed to spread positive message in the Amarillo community

As election season heats up with the start of early voting, you may have noticed some purple and yellow signs appearing in yards across Amarillo, but they don’t mention a single candidate.

The “Kindness Project” yard signs are designed to be displayed in the yards of members who help spread the word of kindness in the Amarillo community, said the Rev. Lynn Brack, interim pastor of Amarillo United Methodist Church.

“Given the pervasive atmosphere in our country, as well as the state of divisiveness, anger, acrimony, and strife leading up to the presidential election, the Amarillo UMC thought it might be helpful to remind us all to take a deep breath and breathe out a spirit of kindness for those who think or believe differently than we do,” it said in a news release. Yard signs are being distributed free of charge to members for distribution in the Amarillo area.
