Two injured after car collides with buggy in southeast Kansas

PARSONS, Kan. (KSNF) – Two people riding a horse and buggy were seriously injured after colliding with another vehicle Thursday morning near Parsons in southeast Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the horse and buggy were traveling east on U400 near mile marker 389 and were “midway in the outside lane and shoulder” when they were struck from behind by a 2023 Ford Escape, also eastbound in the outside lane around 8: 15 am

A 35-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were in the buggy and were seriously injured. They are both from Cherryvale. They were taken to Labette County Hospital in Parsons.

The 27-year-old driver of the Ford Escape was not injured.

There is no information about the horse.
