Meet the families of the new CBS soap (PHOTOS)

CBS finally revealed the full cast Behind the gatesthe first brand new soap opera since Passions in 1999 and the first ever hour-long daytime soap, Black.

Premiere in early 2025. Behind the gates “The story takes place in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside Washington, D.C., in one of the wealthiest African-American counties in the United States,” CBS describes the plot. “Here you’ll find a chic gated community with winding, tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home.”

Behind the gates this is the story of generations. “At the center of this community are the Dupres, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of black royalty,” the logline continues. “But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens lie juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be revealed. And those who live behind these gates are watching carefully. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life… and some with more grace than others.”

Brandon Claybone Timon DurrettSean Freeman, Marquita Goings, Maurice Johnson, Trisha Mann-Grant, RonnieRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Muhammad and Ariel Prepetit round out the cast of the new soap (see below). They join previously announced stars Tamara Tuney (Anita Dupree) Daphne Dupleix (Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson) and Carla Mosley (Dani Dupree). The new cast members complement the Duprees’ extended families and key characters who influence their worlds, CBS said.

Additionally, TV Insider previously reported that Behind the gates there was a casting for the following supporting roles:

“Volume” – Hispanic male, about 20 years old. Thomas “Tom” Hernandez is an extremely handsome and extremely confident lawyer. This is a contract role.

“Mike” is described as a white male in his 50s. He is “Joseph’s” powerful legal partner, as well as the best man at his wedding. However, Mike is now accused of sexual harassment in the workplace. This is a non-contractual role.

“Louis” – Hispanic/Latino between the ages of 20 and 40. Louis is described as sexy, attractive and stunningly handsome. He is a personal trainer at Fairmont Estates Country Club. Luis looks after one of the married women in the gated community. He’s charming, good looking and (of course!) in great shape. Luis’s character is non-contractual.

Behind the gatesproduced by CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, production will begin in November and premiere on CBS in early 2025. Michel Val Jean is the creator, executive producer and showrunner of the series. Val Jean is a soap legend who has written over 2,000 episodes of daytime dramas and won multiple Daytime Emmys and WGA Awards for her work on the series. Bold and the Beautiful And General Hospital. She is developing the series with executive producers Sheila Ducksworth, Robert Guza Jr., Julie Carruthers, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Dobereiner and Anna Saalfeld. It was created in collaboration with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble.
