More than 2,000 households left without power due to accident near I-25

COLORADO SPRINGS — A garbage truck collided with electrical wires Friday, causing a power outage that affected more than 2,000 households.

The accident occurred in the area of I-25 and S. Academy Boulevard.

Colorado Springs Utilities is urging drivers to use caution when driving in the area and to treat any “dark intersections” as four-way stops.
