Driver arrested after collision with three cyclists near ASU Tempe campus

TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man has been arrested after a collision sent three cyclists to hospital in Tempe. earlier this month.

The accident happened on October 6th near 15th Street and College Avenue.

On Tuesday, Tempe police arrested 21-year-old Gustavo Quiris, who was driving a Toyota SUV.

Officers say Quiris remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Preliminary information excluded impairment as a factor.

Quiris was arrested on three counts of causing serious bodily injury by traffic violation, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Police say the court could also revoke his driver’s license.
