Video Goes Viral of Taft Seniors Surprising Employees Who Influenced Them

CINCINNATI — More than 10 million people have watched a video of local football players surprising their favorite teachers or staff members with jerseys before their prom.

Austin Gullett, Taft High School’s athletic director, posted a two-minute TikTok video of each of the team’s senior football players selecting a staff member to honor and wear their jersey at the final game of the season.

“From security to a teacher to an administrator, no matter what position you hold, you never know who you might influence,” Gullett said in the caption. “Every day we come to work is an opportunity to make an impact, and these employees have made a difference in these young people’s lives!”

Each staff member has a unique reaction, ranging from jumping up to hugging or punching a student.

@austintgullett In honor of Senior Citizens Day tomorrow, our senior footballers have chosen one member of staff who has made a positive impact in their lives to wear their jersey to the game tomorrow afternoon. From security to teacher to administrator, no matter your position, you never know who you might influence. Every day we come to work is an opportunity to make an impact, and these employees have made a difference in these young people’s lives! WE ARE TAFT!!! #SeniorNight #Jersey #teacher evaluation #useful ♬ Emotionally – Ban Nono

The video went viral on TikTok, garnering 10 million views and nearly 2 million likes.

“Literally crying my eyes out before work,” one commenter said. “It was so beautiful.”

The post hit the accounts of such famous brands as Barbie and the NFL.

“Crying ,” commented on the NFL’s TikTok page.

Taft won the Senior Night game, defeating Woodward 57–0. Let’s hope we get an updated video of the staff cheering the boys on.
