Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Fable’ wins Special Jury Prize at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024

A stunning and cinematic labor of love directed by Raam Reddy. Fable The film, starring Manoj Bajpayee, was awarded the Special Jury Prize in the South Asian Competition at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024. It had its Asian premiere last week at MAMI. While announcing the award, director Kabir Khan described the film as an impeccable and creative film that showcases the ambition of the director.

Apart from Manoj, the film also features prominent performances by Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal, Tillotama Shome, Hiral Sidhu and Avan Pukot.

Ram Reddy is currently in Spain for another film festival and hence could not stay for the closing ceremony of MAMI. But his father, producer Prathap Reddy, read out a message on behalf of the team, saying, “We would like to thank MAMI for this wonderful opportunity to showcase our film at such a passionate and exciting festival. Our team worked with all our hearts, overcoming many challenges to bring this dream to life on screen. We are deeply touched and grateful for this recognition. The MAMI audience was in many ways our first audience, and we consider ourselves lucky to have your support. the dream has come true.”

Actor Manoj Bajpayee said, “Being a part of The Fable was a transformative experience. The hidden complexity of this story challenged me as an actor. Portraying a character that combines nature and human emotions was a privilege. We started filming before the pandemic, took a break, and then came back to finish it on the mountain. Despite all the difficulties, the team emerged victorious and waited patiently because they believed in Raam’s vision and passion. The MAMI Festival Special Jury Prize reflects the strength of the film and the dedication of everyone who made it possible.”

Executive producers Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain of Sikhya Entertainment said, “We are incredibly proud Fable and recognition received at MAMI. This award is a testament to the hard work, passion and resilience of the entire team, from our visionary director Raam Reddy to the outstanding cast and crew.”

The film will continue its festival path after a successful start at MAMI. Fable is set to make its mark on the international festival circuit over the next few weeks with numerous screenings at various prestigious film festivals. The film will be shown at SEMINCI in Spain on October 25 and 26, as well as at the Zorrilla Theater and Cines Broadway. The Fable will then head to Brazil’s MOSTRA festival, which runs from October 17th to 20th. The film will continue its global journey in November with screenings at the Three Continents Festival in France, the Leeds International Film Festival and the Cork International Film Festival in Ireland.
