Jeff Neil Floors, Rafael dos Anjos Knee Injury Ends UFC 308 Bout

Geoff Neal is back in the winners column.

After back-to-back losses to division toppers Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Machado Harry, Neil drew another big name in Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. It would be one-way traffic for “Hand of Steel” Neal, who would find a home for his punches early in the welterweight bout.

Neal moved forward, working his jab as both fighters traded kicks. In the first minute, Neal landed a left hand on dos Anjos, who knocked down the former lightweight champion.

Neal lands follow-up strikes and decides to let dos Anjos get back to his feet. Neal then takes down Dos Anjos, holding him there for a few seconds before getting back to his feet.

Neal lands a left hand and dos Anjos falls back to the canvas – not from the blow, but from an apparent knee injury, at which point the referee stopped the fight.

Official result: Geoff Neal defeats Rafael dos Anjos by TKO (knee injury) in the 1st round (1:30).
