Smoke spotted near the site of a recent wildfire in the Oakland Hills

“Yes, again”: Those are the words of the Oakland Fire Department after smoke was spotted near the Keller Avenue exit on Interstate 580 in Oakland on Saturday afternoon.

Oakland fire officials said the vehicle fire started around 3:10 p.m. and produced a lot of smoke. According to them, the fire did not reach the vegetation due to the prompt reaction of engines 26 and 17.

The California Highway Patrol said the right shoulder of the highway was affected and that drivers should expect delays.

Earlier this month, a fire burned on Keller Avenue in the Oakland hills, triggering five alarms.

Hundreds of residents were evacuated as a precaution. The fire burned about 15 acres, officials said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Cal Fire.
