Auto union worker predicts blue bloc will vote for Trump in ‘large numbers’: ‘He speaks our language’

Rust Belt auto workers, traditionally a cornerstone of the blue voting base, are increasingly leaning toward the Republican Party in a significant political realignment that is frustrating Democrats.

For people like Brian Pannebecker, founder of Auto Workers for Trump 2024, these changes aren’t too surprising.

“The mainstream media was a little late,” he said Tuesday. “Results” of the FOX Business channel.

“This has been going on since the 1980s. Ronald Reagan and the Reagan Revolution gave Macomb County, where I’m from, the political nickname “home of the Reagan Democrats” and that’s when the entire UAW jumped over and voted for Ronald Reagan and he won in a landslide. So, this has been going on for 40 years,” he continued, referring to the 1984 presidential election in which President Reagan came away winning 49 states.

Despite the United Auto Workers board’s decision to support Vice President Kamala Harris this election cycle, many auto workers like Pannebecker are supporting former President Trump.

Some are driven by factors such as the economy or energy policy. Others are concerned about Harris. support for electric vehicles (EV) or even long-standing trade policies they believe have negatively impacted their industry.

“Democrats have been sending our jobs to Mexico and China for over 40 years, so this process has just come to a head with Donald Trump, and he speaks our language. He knows what we want to hear and that he is going to protect our industry before it disappears completely and we are going to vote for him in large numbers, I say 65 to 70% of UAW members are pulling the lever in favor Donald Trump,” Pannebecker said.

TRUMP SAYS URA PRESIDENT SHOULD BE “FIRED IMMEDIATELY”

James Benson Jr., another union auto worker from Michigan, has voted Blue all his life.

He told Fox News on Wednesday that that’s about to change.

“I was a lifelong Democrat, voted for Obama both terms. And guess what? All I saw was more losses and more jobs going overseas. There has been nothing but growth and record sales during the Trump administration,” he told “Fox & Friends.” co-host Lawrence Jones.

“At this point, fake optics no longer work. You can’t tell us that… the economy is fine. It’s only in your head. It doesn’t hurt you. No, we’re in pain. We are all hurting. pay our bills and all these different things, and it frustrates us because you hear all these things: “Everyone wants electric cars.” Well, no. Sales are terrible. They sold so many low-cost Lightning models…to Ford that they cut production.”

He said the emphasis on electric vehicles has also led to job losses.

Harris’ ally, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, called on labor unions to break with tradition and not support the Democratic nomination this year.
