Richard Allen’s trial begins its third week. Follow Murder Updates in Delphi

In 2022, after expert linked the bullet found at a crime scene near the Monon High Bridge in Delphi resident Richard Allen’s firearm, he told state police that no one had ever borrowed the Sig Sauer Model P226 .40-caliber pistol.

Allen, 52 years old, accused of killing two teenagers who went missing on February 13, 2017 and were found dead the next day. He was arrested in 2022 and faces two counts of murder and two counts of murder during a kidnapping in the deaths of Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” Herman.

Indiana State Police Lt. Jerry Holeman returned to the stand Saturday morning at a hearing in Carroll District Court describing what Allen said and his behavior during the interview that led to his arrest.
