Inter 4-4 Juventus: Kenan Yildiz scores twice in Serie A thriller Derby of Italy with eight goals

Substitute Kenan Yildiz scored twice as Juventus fought back to draw with Inter Milan in an eight-goal clash between the Serie A giants.

Inter, for whom Piotr Zielinski scored two first-half penalties, led 4-2 early in the second half but were unable to capitalize on the advantage.

The result of the match, known historically as the Derby d’Italia, means Inter remain second in the table, with Juventus a distant third.

Danilo caught Marcus Thuram in the box and gave Zielinski his first chance from the spot, which he converted down the middle.

Juventus soon equalized when Juan Cabal flicked the ball over the top of the goal and found Weston McKennie, who sent Dusan Vlahovic home.

Timothy Weah scored from close range to intercept Francisco Conceicao’s cross to give Juventus the lead before Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored his first goal of the season with Thuram’s curling pass.

Pierre Kalulu fouled Denzel Dumfries, giving Inter a second penalty, and Zielinski this time took the corner to earn a 3-2 lead.

Dumfries fired home from inside the area to give Inter a two-goal cushion, but Yildiz and Juventus fought their way back into the game.

McKennie found Yildiz for the first time in the 71st minute when the young Turkish striker fired through the legs of Dumfries.

Yildiz then intercepted Conceicao’s ball across the penalty area and fired into the bottom corner to level the score.

Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio made brilliant saves to keep out shots from Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco, while Lautaro Martinez rose highest from Federico Dimarco’s cross but fired wide.
