Aston Villa fans have taken to social media to urge the club to re-sign Jack Grealish after he was filmed by fans Facetiming ahead of their 1-0 Champions League defeat to Club Brugge on Wednesday (November 6). .

The 29-year-old, who came through Aston Villa’s academy and grew up as a fan of the club, could be seen bantering with fans in the pub.

Although he was not physically present on the pitch, it was no surprise that the England international was the life of the party, but unfortunately for him and all the traveling fans, Villa were destroyed by a controversial penalty decision.

Emiliano Martinez passed the ball to Tyrone Mings from a goal kick, without understanding the situation, Mings picked up the ball and rolled it back to him, inadvertently giving away a penalty.

Villa are now winless in their last four games in all competitions as Unai Emery tries to help them overcome a difficult run of form with a win over Liverpool on Saturday (November 9).

Jack Grealish is still an Aston Villa fan favorite

Grealish left his boyhood club back in 2021, securing a then UK record £100 million move to Manchester City, where he won three consecutive Premier League titles.

He is clearly still loved at his old club and fans have taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to ask the club to bring him home.
