Interfaith Council to Hold Community Singing at Brunswick Mall Gazebo

The Brunswick Area Interfaith Council will host a community sing-along for love, peace and justice on Sunday, November 3 at 2:00 pm at the Brunswick Mall gazebo.

Experienced performers will share familiar songs and some new, easy-to-learn songs, as well as provide lyrics sheets. These are songs for all voices, designed to unite and refresh everyone in the days leading up to the election.

The Interfaith Council of the Brunswick Region is coordinating a campaign to promote the values of love, peace and justice by distributing colorful lawn signs and magnets with these words. Signs and magnets will be available for sale at the event, which is being organized to highlight these themes during these stressful and challenging times.

Holly Morrison, pastor of Phippsburg Congregational Church, who will co-lead the songs, said singing together is a powerful way for people to reconnect and restore strength.

This event will take place rain or shine and participants are asked to bring chairs if they need them. The council also encourages everyone to raise their voices and remember to vote in this fall’s elections.

The Brunswick Area Interfaith Council is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding, respect and cooperation among the various faith traditions in the Brunswick area. Through cooperative efforts, BAIC promotes religious life and the spiritual, moral and social well-being of the larger Brunswick region community.
