Body found in search of missing 49-year-old woman Wales.

Joan Jones went missing from her home in Pontypridd last Monday.

The 49-year-old was last seen at about 9.45am in Vale Gardens, Pontypridd, about 12 miles north-west of the city. Cardiff.

Local residents joined officers to help find her along the route to Llandwonno Forest, which was searched by police and dogsThis is reported by WalesOnline.

Now South Wales Police have confirmed that the body found yesterday has been identified as Joan’s.

Police said her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Hampton said: “I would like to express my condolences to Joan’s family at this very sad time for them.

“I also want to thank our emergency service colleagues and members of the public who assisted us in our search over the past week.

“I can also confirm that we do not consider Joan’s death to be suspicious.”

Police said her family “expressed gratitude to all agencies and community members” who assisted in the search.

“Now they are demanding privacy so they can begin to come to terms with their loss.”
