Here’s what the Eagles’ Nick Sirianni had to say about the upcoming trade deadline.

With almost a week left until the NFL trade deadline (Nov. 5), teams like Eagles evaluate their rosters to determine which positions and players they can target while weighing the assets needed to make a deal, such as draft picks. With the Eagles holding a 5-2 record and fighting for first place in the NFC East and conference, general manager Howie Roseman may be faced with a difficult decision.

When asked about the upcoming trade deadline, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in the current roster, but emphasized that he trusts Roseman if a trade is made.

“I like our team and I think it’s really coming together,” Sirianni said. “With that being said, we are always looking for ways to improve our team and I know Howie is the best at that, he is always looking for ways to improve the football team. I admire that and appreciate that, but like I said, I like the guys we have. “I think we worked really well as a team, but we’ll see how things pan out next week.”

Since 2022, the Eagles have made three trades before the trade deadline, most recently acquiring defensive tackle Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans and trading defensive tackle Kentavious Street to the Atlanta Falcons in 2023. They added a defensive end in 2022. Robert Quinn.

The Eagles are playing their best football of the season with a 20-point win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, their third win in a row. When examining a team’s needs, the only position to look at is edge rusher. Defensive endings Bryce Huff, Josh Sweet, Brandon Grahamand midfielder Nolan Smith generate more pressure, but they have only totaled eight sacks in seven games.

According to above the capThe Eagles have $10.1 million in cap space. Roseman could free up more cap space through a contract restructuring, giving the team some flexibility. However, there are not many tents available. Cleveland Browns cornerback Myles Garrett and Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Maxx Crosby are expected to remain with their teams, so a role player or situational pass rusher could be a more realistic target.

There have also been rumors of the Eagles pursuing a third receiver, but given their current roster and use of a third receiver, it’s unlikely there will be a significant move at that spot. Before the season, the Eagles traded a 2025 third-round draft pick to acquire Jahan Dotson from Washington commanders. Dotson was targeted just 13 times, catching six passes for 35 yards.

The Eagles could also consider cornerback James Bradberry as a trade deadline addition once he returns from the knee injury that placed him on injured reserve to start the season. Bradberry can step in if a serious injury impacts the secondary, providing depth at both cornerback and safety while also serving as a veteran mentor to younger defensive backs.
