URGENT: Ballon d’Or 2024: Rodri declares winner ahead of Vinicius Jr, Bellingham

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been announced as the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner.

Rodri won it ahead of Real Madrid trio Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal.

The Spaniard won the Premier League title with City and the Euros with his country.

Rodri’s Ballon d’Or win came as a shock as Vinicius was widely expected to take home the trophy.

However, the Brazilian was later informed that he would not be declared the winner.

This led to Real Madrid boycotting the ceremony, although they were named Club of the Year and Carlo Ancelotti won Coach of the Year.
