Each member of the Ginyu Squad has been given a rank in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

Each member of the Ginyu Squad has been given a rank in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero

The Ginyu Force is one of Dragon Ball’s most iconic villains, despite his short tenure in the series. In Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, his reign of terror is stronger than ever.

Dragon Ball: Spark! Zero has the largest cast in the Dragon Ball series as players can choose between 181 characters to battle each other. One, or should I say five, characters that have always been fan favorites for many Dragon Ball players is the Ginyu Force. Each one boasts their signature pose and color, forming an incredible team pose that has become a cultural phenomenon. So let’s evaluate each member of the Ginyu Force.

Here are all five Ginyu Force members ranked in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, their total destruction points and how to maximize their skill set.

Guldo: two points of destruction

Guldo is a fun character that only costs two destruction points to add to your team. While he’s certainly no Yajirobe (pre-Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Nerf), Guldo is a viable option to add to any ranked team. His telekinetic abilities deal solid damage, which is great for maintaining distance between you and your opponent.

However, Guldo is at the very bottom of this ranking because he is incredibly slow in melee combat. You will find it difficult to attack opponents with five or more destruction points, and you will often be overwhelmed in combat. While you may be able to land a special attack every now and then, you’ll have a hard time dealing any meaningful damage to characters with higher defense levels.

Return: three points of destruction

From here on out, every other member of the Ginyu Force has extremely strong character traits, and it really comes down to what you prefer. That being said, Recoome ends up in fourth place because his strengths don’t quite match the current meta in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero compared to the other three participants. This is because Recoome’s main strength is his defense and high health, which are truly elite in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. As a three-point destruction character, Recoome is a great option for players looking to take a more defensive approach to ranked play, as he will be able to withstand multiple hits from opponents.

However, Ricom’s attack is unlikely to cause any damage to opponents as his attacks are slow and weak. This is something that doesn’t reflect well on the Dragon Ball: Sparking meta! Zero, which relies heavily on dealing quick bursts of melee damage.

Jace: Three Points of Destruction

Jace is in the middle of the rankings for Ginyu Force members as he combines all the criteria on this list well. He is capable of melee combat, has strong special attacks, and has a good amount of health, making him a good choice for a character costing three points of destruction. In short, Jace is a really great character to pick if you need a three-cost option to round out your team.

What prevents Jace from ranking higher on this list is the strength of his other two Ginyu Force teammates. Jace doesn’t have any unique tricks, and he doesn’t have a specific set of skills that he excels at. Jace is good at everything, making him a great link for any ranked team in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. However, he doesn’t have anything truly unique, although his Crusher Ball move is aesthetically great as it looks like a red spirit bomb.

However, Jace is a great choice for a three-cost character and does everything well.

Ginyu: Three points

Most people expected the Ginyu Squad Captain to be listed as number one, and if this list was based on total numbers, Ginyu would be number one on that list. However, what prevents Ginyu from taking the top spot in the Ginyu Force rankings is its cost of four points of destruction.

However, the fact that Ginyu is still the second highest overall cost on the list is very impressive, and most of that cost comes from his special attack. Ginyu’s special attack allows him to switch bodies with his opponent and take away all of their health. Thus, if Ginyu is on the verge of death and his opponent is fully healthy, he will suddenly find himself on his last legs. This in itself is one of the most powerful abilities in the game, as it is a great counter to players looking to capture the characters with the highest destruction rating. The only problem is that this ability can be difficult to implement. If you miss this, you’ll be in for a whirlwind of attacks.

Burter: Three points

Ginyu is the strongest member of the Ginyu Force. However, what puts Burter ahead of his captain is his extremely fast melee attacks and lower cost of destruction points. Using Burter in Dragon Ball: Sparking only costs three points of destruction! Zero, which puts him in a unique line of characters who are extremely good at taking out multiple enemies on the opposing team.

Burter fits perfectly with the current playstyle of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, which primarily deals damage through melee attacks. He is incredibly fast and has one of the fastest attack starts in the entire game. If the meta changed away from melee attacks and switched to characters that prioritize range, Burter would likely drop to second place on this list behind Ginyu. However, in the current state of the game, it is very difficult to resist Burter’s powers, as the speed of his movements baffles even the most experienced Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero player.
