Joe Rogan rejected original terms for Kamala Harris interview, but now says: ‘I really hope we can make it happen’

Joe Rogan following his interview with Donald Trumpsaid he was willing to host Vice President Kamala Harris on his popular podcast if, however, she agreed to record an interview at his studio in Austin, Texas.

Rogan said Harris’ campaign offered her an interview, but only for one hour — while Rogan’s podcast with Trump lasted about three hours — and Rogan would have to “go see her,” according to the comedian-podcaster.

Monday night Rogan wrote on X that “for the record, the Harris campaign has not given up on producing the podcast.” According to Rogan, “they offered a date for Tuesday”—presumably meaning October 29—“but I would have to travel to her, and they only wanted to spend an hour. I firmly believe that the best way to do this is in a studio in Austin.”

Rogan concluded, “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a person. I really hope we can make it happen.”

Elon Musk, tech billionaire and Trump supporter, answered to Rogan: “I would definitely check out this podcast. The second hour will be (melting face emoticon).”

Harris campaign officials did not respond to requests for comment.

Last week, a spokeswoman for the Democratic vice president’s campaign said she would not appear on Rogan’s podcast. “We spoke with Rogan and his team about the podcast. Unfortunately, that won’t work right now due to the scheduling of this campaign period,” Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams said in an Oct. 25 MSNBC interview. He added that “the vice president is happy to go anywhere and everywhere to talk to a broad segment of the country.”

Rogan made his comments about talks with the Harris camp about a potential interview in response to his full release post about Trump’s interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” for X, a social network controlled by Musk. Rogan said he shared it on X because he was “having trouble finding the episode on YouTube.”

YouTube said Monday that “some search terms” for Rogan’s Oct. 25 podcast with Trump, the original podcast episode was not “conspicuously” shown. The Google-owned video platform said it had “worked to resolve this issue and viewers will soon start seeing the full podcast in more YouTube search results.”
