Mount Pleasant police rescue woman from burning car

MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) – Mount Pleasant police rescued a woman from a burning vehicle after it rolled over.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, just before 10 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover at the North Mission Road roundabout, the City of Mount Pleasant said.

City officials said that when officers arrived, they found the vehicle on its side with flames coming from the rear, and officers immediately smashed the windshield, pulling the 22-year-old driver to safety.

There was no one else in the vehicle and it was fully engulfed in flames seconds after the driver was rescued, the city said.
