‘Dancing With the Stars’ Halloween Nightmares Recap: Almost Everyone Scores 10

Dancing with the StarsHalloween Nightmare Night brought chills and thrills to the ballroom, showcasing spooky-themed performances from contestants, many of whom earned their first tens of the season. Read our full Halloween recap and find out which celebrity was sadly sent home.

The evening began with a thrilling group number to Murder on the Dance Floor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, choreographed by Emma Slater and Gleb Savchenko. The cast and cast also paid tribute to Marvel Television’s “Agatha All Along” with a mesmerizing routine to “The Ballad of the Witch Road (Sacred Chant Version)” choreographed by Britt Stewart and Ezra Sosa.

The seven remaining couples then moved on to their individual routines, which included Argentine tango, contemporary art, Viennese waltz and tango. Tonight also marked the return of dance matches, where couples, two at a time, competed against each other on the ballroom floor in the same dance style.

The winners of the dance matches received three bonus points to add to their scores. Chandler and Brandon secured immunity from this week’s dance duels thanks to their top spot on the leaderboard last week and consistent strong performances throughout the season.

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten

Results: 24 (8, 8, 8)

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten performed a tango to the Miley Cyrus song “Psycho Killer.” Bruno said he could tell she worked hard on this dance, especially with her figure. Carrie Ann noted Ilona’s weekly growth and said she loves what she brings to the dance floor. Derek told her to focus on her footwork and move forward. The judges awarded them straight eights.

Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach

Results: 31 (10, 9, 9) + 3 bonus points

Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach performed the contemporary composition “Ring About The Rosie” by District 78 featuring Natalia Lilly. Carrie Ann said she wasn’t sure he’d ever go there and praised his artistry and dedication every step of the way. Derek gave them a standing ovation, calling the program “absolutely creepy in the best way.” Bruno added that he had never seen Dwight more focused and determined than he was tonight. They received the first ten of the season and two nines.

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson

Results: 28 (10, 9, 9)

Danny Amendola and professional Witney Carson perform Argentine tango to “Poison” by RAVN. Derek called the dancing “fantastic” but noted that his shoulders hunched at times. Bruno added that the routine was so intoxicating that he needed an antidote. Carrie Ann also said the performance was amazing. “You were on top of the world,” she concluded. They got their first 10 from Carrie Ann and two nines.

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber

Results: 31 (10, 9, 9) + 3 bonus points

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber performed the contemporary composition “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo. The judges said their performance was amazing. Bruno noted that she was in charge of the dance, and Carrie Ann added that she earned nine points thanks to this athletic and emotional performance. Derek said he liked the intensity and drama and that she was in character the whole time. She also received one ten and two nines.

Joey Graziadei And Jenna Johnson

Results: 32 (10, 9, 10) + 3 bonus points

Joey Graciadei and Jenna Johnson performed Argentine tango to “Ramalama (Bang Bang)” by Róisín Murphy. Derek praised the dance as being full of substance, but noted two moments where the movements seemed unsteady. Bruno liked how the story intertwined with the choreography. Carrie Ann told Joey that he was so consistent, but tonight he upped his game. They received two tens and one nine from Derek.

Stephen Nedoroshik And Riley Arnold

Results: 28 (10, 9, 9)

Stephen Nedoroschik and Riley Arnold performed the modern composition “I Ran (So Far Away)” by Hidden Citizens. Carrie Ann applauded the number, calling it “the best dance of the night.” Derek called the dancing fantastic and said he enjoyed seeing Stephen in the dramatic role. Bruno added that he gave the audience something special and beautiful. The pair earned their first 10s and two 9s.

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong

Results: 32 (9, 10, 10) + 3 bonus points

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong performed a Viennese waltz to the song Secret by Denmark + Winter. Bruno described the quality of the movements as exquisite. Carrie Ann added that while she is at her best, she wouldn’t call it perfect. Derek disagreed with his co-star and said the dance was “absolute perfection.” They got their first ten of the season from Derek, a 10 from Bruno, and an amazing nine from Carrie Ann.

Dwight and Danielle vs Ilona and Alan

Winner: Dwight and Danielle

The first dance took place between Dwight and Danielle and Ilona and Alan. They performed the cha-cha to Ray Parker Jr.’s Ghostbusters. The judges noted that both couples made significant progress. Although Dwight had a strong start, Ilona was more technical. “It’s a tough call,” Derek said of the difficult decision, but they ultimately chose Dwight and Danielle.

Jenn and Sasha vs. Steven and Riley

Winner: Jen and Sasha

The next couples to come face to face were Jenn and Sasha and Steven and Riley. They performed salsa to “Jump In the Line” by Harry Belafonte. The judges found both routines very interesting, but noted their contrasting styles. They praised Jenn’s hip movements and the way she danced the entire time, but they also loved Steven’s stunts and exercises. Jen and Sasha were chosen as the winners of the dance challenge.

Danny and Whitney vs Joey and Jenna

Winner: Joey and Jenna

The last couples to hit the dance floor were Danny and Whitney and Joey and Jenna, who jived to “Time Warp” by Little Nell, Patricia Quinn and Richard O’Brien. The judges said the energy level was incredible. Carrie Ann noted that their approaches were very different. Derek said it was very difficult to judge and congratulated them on a tough battle. In the end, Joey and Jenna came out on top.

Who was excluded Dancing with the Stars This week?

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber were eliminated in week seven of the tournament. Dancing with the Stars. They received the lowest combination of judges’ scores for the couples’ dances and audience votes during Halloween Nightmare Night.

When co-host Julianne Hough asked Tran what was the most important thing she learned while on the show, she responded, “I’m so grateful to have met all the people I’ve met here; everyone here has been so wonderful and so kind.”

The former Bachelorette continued: “We’ve spent the last seven weeks together and I can’t even imagine life without Sasha at the moment and seven weeks ago I didn’t even know him.”

Dancing with the Stars returns in two weeks on Tuesday, November 12th on ABC and Disney+. New episodes will be available for viewing ABC.com And Hulu the next day.
