Joy-Anna Duggar’s at-home hair transformation left her in tears

Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth doubts about hair coloring.

Counting on The 27-year-old star said dyeing her hair was a “stupid decision” after documenting the dyeing process for the first time. Instagram video Published Tuesday, October 29th.

“Behind this decision was ‘You only live once’ and ‘girls just want to have fun’ but then I quickly realized it was a stupid decision LOL,” she captioned the post.

The clip began with her showing off her natural hair while standing in the bathroom, before mixing up dye and saying, “This has happened before.” She was then joined by a friend who helped her through the process.

“I can’t believe we’re doing this,” her friend said.

In the next clip, Joy-Anna exclaimed, zooming in on her face: “We’re going all in.”

“Oh my God, we’re doing this,” she added, saying she’s been wanting to dye her hair “for a while.”

Her friend then assured her that “if it’s the wrong color, we’ll fix it.”

Joy-Anna later said while filming half of her hair covered in dark red dye: “I’ll probably go through the regret and then I’ll love it or I’ll hate it and then I’ll go and fix it,” adding nervously facial expression: “You only live once, right? Might as well just do it.”

Once the coloring process was complete, Joy-Anna filmed herself looking at her hair in a bun in the bathroom mirror. “I’m a little nervous, I’ve never done anything like this in my life, but I’m excited,” she said.

After waiting 20 minutes, a friend helped her wash off the dye and wrap her hair in a towel. Joy-Anna then explained that she wanted to be “totally surprised” by the revelation.

After her hair was blow-dried, Joy-Anna filmed herself standing with her friend in front of the mirror, closing her eyes and counting from three. She then opened her eyes and sighed softly before leaning forward, covering her mouth with her hand.

“Instant regret,” she wrote in the caption of the clip. “*Holds back tears*.”

“Dark!” her friend said in the video: “Washing your face will make you feel lighter,” she added, trying to calm Joy-Anna as they laughed even as tears began to fill her eyes.

Joy-Anna posted a second video sharing the rest of her reaction. “What have I done?” She said. She quickly called to make an appointment at the salon to fix the paint, and on the way to the salon she said that she thought the paint would be “chocolate brown with red undertones,” but it turned out “jet black.”

She explained that after washing it twice, her hair still looked “super black” and she hoped the salon could correct the color.
