The Cleveland Browns’ trade plans are based on one important factor.

Cleveland Browns have already traded wide receiver Amari Cooper, so the general consensus is that they will be offloading more players before the NFL trade deadline.

But is it possible that the Browns might have other plans?

Jared Mueller of Dawgs By Nature explores an alternate scenario in which Cleveland wins its Week 9 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, improving to 3-6, and then decides to keep… or maybe even buy.

“Victory in week nine over Los Angeles Chargerscurrently ranked seventh could result in Cleveland’s front office either staying put or even trying to add to the team despite a 3-6 record,” Mueller wrote.

Mueller cites the example of the 2022 campaign, when the Browns were 2-5 but then beat the team. Cincinnati Bengalsby completely changing your timing strategy. Cleveland ended up going 7-10 and missing the playoffs, but there is precedent.

Of course, whether going all-in is the best idea for the Browns or not is debatable.

Cleveland just snapped a five-game losing streak and has plenty of issues on both sides of the ball. Yes, the offense looks better with Jameis Winston running the snaps instead of Deshaun Watson, but are the Browns really good enough to climb out of this hole?

Cleveland also has several players who could have quite a bit of value on the trade market, so it might be smart to move on from some more players before the November 5 deadline.

If the Browns lose to the Chargers this Sunday, their decision will be much easier.
