Premier League North player backs club’s sale of home games

Two-time North Melbourne premiership player Corey McKernan says low fan numbers leave the club with no choice but to look for ways to maximize revenue elsewhere.

It is now widely believed that the club will play two “home” games in Western Australia next year, with the games scheduled to be played in Perth and Bunbury.

McKernan told Wide world of sports he was disappointed with the turnout at some home games in Melbourne last season.

“There were certain games (in 2024) where you would have thought there would have been a lot more North Melbourne fans,” he said in an interview. 3AW.

“I’ve been to games where you’d think there would be a decent crowd… North seems to struggle to get over 20,000 people.”
