DoorDash partners with Lyft to bring ride-sharing benefits to members

Delivery service DoorDash announced on Wednesday that it was cooperating with Elevator to provide ride sharing benefits to its members.

The announcement comes after DoorDash posted better-than-expected third-quarter results. The San Francisco-based company said its revenue rose 25% in the July-September period to $2.7 billion, a figure that topped Wall Street’s forecast of $2.65 billion, according to analysts polled by FactSet.

DoorDash said it DashPass Members will receive discounts on Lyft rides, and Lyft riders will receive a free trial of DashPass. DashPass members pay $9.99 per month or $96 per year for free shipping on most orders.

This combination makes DoorDash a stronger competitor Uberwhich offers for free Delivery Uber Eats and discounts on Uber rides for Uber One members. Uber’s program also costs $9.99 per month or $96 per year.
