One person hospitalized after being rescued from Beaches’ apartment fire

Toronto firefighters rescued a resident from a Beaches apartment Wednesday after a fire broke out inside the apartment.

Emergency crews were called to the home at 125 Kenilworth Avenue, near Queen Street East and Woodbine Avenue, around 9:15 a.m. after reports of smoke coming from a third-floor apartment.

Arriving at the scene, firefighters rescued one person from the apartment.

The man was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Rescuers put out the fire and say it was contained to one block.
