Gov. Tim Walz will speak at a community concert in Asheville to encourage early voting on Oct. 30.

Minnesota Governor and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will travel to Asheville on Wednesday, October 30, the Harris-Walz campaign announced today.

Walz is expected to arrive at Asheville Regional Airport on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Walz will appear on stage later in the evening. Orange peel in downtown Asheville as part of the Asheville Community Concert, the location of which was announced via Instagram.

Raleigh-based band American Aquarium will also perform at the event. The Orange Peel said rental proceeds from the event will go toward a $10,000 donation to the River Arts District Foundation’s flood relief fund.

Those interested in participating can register Here. The link states that the final event time will only be available to “confirmed guests.” Those wishing to attend must RSVP in advance, but it does not guarantee admission.

Before his visit to Asheville, the Minnesota governor will visit Charlotte and Greensboro, where he will hold a number of political events.

Walz’s visit is aimed at “encouraging North Carolinians to vote early for Vice President Harris and Democrats on all ballots,” the Harris-Waltz campaign said.

Walz recently held campaign rally in Asheville just over a week before Hurricane Helen hit western North Carolina. The rescue station where this event took place was heavily damaged by flooding due to Helen’s fault.
