Nothing has revealed a glow-in-the-dark version of its latest smartphone. Nothing Phone 2a Plus, developed in collaboration with winning competition fans.

Nothing Phone 2a Plus Community Edition is replete with phosphorescent, glow-in-the-dark green decorations – ones that are “charged” with light and do not require power.

The Community Edition, as the name suggests, was developed with public input as part of a project that collected 900 entries from Nothing fans in 47 countries.

Astrid Vanhuis and Kenta Akasaki worked with Nothing on the phosphorescence design concept; Andres Mateos used artificial intelligence tools and digital design to create six wallpapers; Ian Henry Simmonds designed the packaging using glow-in-the-dark and reflective materials; and Sonia Palma worked with Nothing on the marketing campaign, producing related videos and digital assets.

Nothing Phone 2a Plus was originally released in August and is actually a slightly more powerful version Nothing Phone 2awhich hit the shelves back in March. Both phones, in turn, are stripped-down versions of the flagship. Nothing, phone 2.

The Community Edition features the same 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage that impressed us when we tested the phone for our purposes. Nothing Phone 2a Plus review.

The phone also boasts of a 50MP dual-ultra-wide-angle rear camera, an exclusive MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery; Quite impressive specs for its below-average price.

The Nothing Phone 2a Plus Community Edition starts at £399 – the same price as the regular 2a Plus – with the first of 1,000 limited edition units available on November 12 from Nothing’s website. official website and select retailers. Nothing’s flagship store in London will also be selling the phone from November 16th.

Nothing phones are only available in the US as part of the company’s US beta program, so pricing for that region hasn’t been revealed yet. We are awaiting word from Nothing regarding whether the Community Edition will be properly launched in the US.

Nothing calls the launch “the first major pilot to co-create hardware, software and content with its community,” suggesting the company can expect more community involvement in the future.
